Programs Served Nearly 147,000 Customers and Reduced Carbon Emissions by More Than 666,000 Tons

October 29, 2026 – The NHSaves® utility partners, Eversource, Liberty, New Hampshire Electric Cooperative and Unitil, helped New Hampshire residents, businesses and municipalities reduce their energy use and costs through statewide energy efficiency programs in 2025 – ultimately delivering significant benefits to the Granite State as a whole.

As detailed in the newly released 2025 NHSaves®Impact Report, the programs generated $200,987,819 in combined benefits and served 146,980 customers across New Hampshire. For every $1 invested in energy efficiency, the programs generated $2.89 in benefits.

“Our goal is to help families make their homes more comfortable, help businesses lower operating costs, and show New Hampshire residents the far-reaching benefits of energy efficiency to provide energy and cost savings. The success of NHSaves programs demonstrates that energy efficiency continues to be one of the most effective ways to help customers while supporting economic development and sustainability,” said Kate Peters, Director of Energy Efficiency at Eversource. “In 2025, these programs helped customers reduce energy bills and improve the performance of their homes and buildings, helping individuals take control of their energy usage while delivering lasting benefits to their surrounding communities.”

Statewide Energy and Environmental Benefits

Together, NHSaves® programs generated 787,947 megawatt-hours in lifetime electric savings—enough to power the annual electricity use of 111,226 homes.

The programs also generated 2,099,301 million British thermal units (MMBTU) in lifetime natural gas savings, enough energy to heat 23,751 homes for one year. The electric program delivered an additional 2,434,447 MMBTU in lifetime savings from other heating fuels.

Furthermore, these energy savings reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 666,250 tons, the equivalent of taking 155,406 cars off the road for one year.

Helping New Hampshire Residents Save Energy

Programs reached New Hampshire households throughout the state, including:

  • 1,986 homes through Home Energy Performance
  • 6,523 homes through Home Energy Assistance
  • 2,132 homes through ENERGY STAR® Homes
  • 27,326 homes through ENERGY STAR Products

Through incentives, technical guidance and energy-saving improvements, these programs help residents reduce energy costs while making their homes healthier and more comfortable.

Supporting Businesses and Municipalities

In 2025, NHSaves served:

  • 949 projects through Large Business Energy Solutions
  • 7,749 projects through Small Business Energy Solutions
  • 259 municipal projects

These programs connect organizations of all sizes with resources that can help lower operating costs, improve building performance and support long-term sustainability and energy efficiency – providing a valuable resource to the business community that drives New Hampshire’s economic growth and helping municipalities across the state remain among the nation’s best places to live, work and visit.
