Save Energy with the Home Energy Assistance Program
NHSaves works to help New Hampshire residents save more by offering incentives to income qualified customers for weatherizing their homes and learning how to improve their energy usage habits. This program is administered by the five Community Action Agencies (CAA) located throughout the state. Contact yours to see if you qualify.
The goal of NHSaves is to help people statewide be more energy efficient and save money by using less energy in their homes. However, we understand that sometimes this is still not enough. The statewide Electric Assistance Program (EAP) began October 1, 2002. This initiative provides qualifying customers with discounts on their monthly electric and gas bills.
These funds can be put toward the following services:
- Air sealing
- Health & safety measures (bathroom fans/vents, etc.)
- Programmable thermostats
- Space heating equipment
- Water heating equipment
- Whole-house audit
Eligibility is determined by total household income and the number of household members. If you rent or own your home and receive an electric or gas bill from Eversource, Liberty, New Hampshire Electric Co-op, or Unitil, you may apply for these discounts.
Additional funds may be available to customers who qualify for the NH Weatherization Assistance Program.
