The recently signed HB549 restores funding and the framework for the NHSaves energy efficiency programs. As we file a new 2022 – 2023 Plan proposal, we continue to serve NH residents and businesses as budgets allow. Our rebates and programs have been updated or are in the process of being updated. The NH Utilities continue to review previously made commitments and develop offerings for 2022:
- Residential products and appliances: The utilities are working with our vendors and partners to finalize 2022 incentive forms.
- Residential audits and weatherization: 2022 offers are being finalized. If you believe you may qualify for Home Energy Assistance, our income-eligible program, you are encouraged to contact your local Community Action Agency directly.
- Business customers, you are invited to contact your utility company directly to find an energy efficiency solution for your business.

The NH Utilities are developing program and incentive offerings for 2022. We expect to have applications for new energy efficiency projects available in early January.
The NHSaves Utility Partners appreciate our customer’s interest in making their homes and businesses more efficient and the expertise of the vendors and trade allies who provide the equipment and services to implement projects. We look forward to working with all of our partners and stakeholders to continue moving forward with New Hampshire’s important energy efficiency programs.
Any new projects anticipated for 2022 and any new residential projects for 2021 are currently paused. Customers with a new 2021 commercial project should contact their utility for further clarification. Additionally, all point-of-sale and retail rebates and incentives on lighting, appliances, equipment and HVAC systems are closed as of November 23, 2021. As stated above, please check back in January for updated program and incentive offerings.
More information and updates regarding future availability for funding on NHSaves projects will be shared as it becomes available.

On Friday, November 12, 2021, the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission issued an Order regarding the proposal for the 2021-2023 NHSaves energy efficiency programs.
The Order does not approve the proposed Plan and makes a number of directives regarding future rates, future filings, budgets and other key areas of program design and administration. The New Hampshire Utility Partners are working diligently to understand the implications of the Order to the NHSaves programs and to develop solutions so that we can collectively move forward with our important energy efficiency programs.
